Our Product

Today, everyone is thinking about how they can contribute to making this world  greener, cleaner and how to recycle, save money and energy.

The Slugger Bricketter offers a simplistic method of turning a wide variety of input materials into 1-1/2” or 2” diameter 100% natural Brickettes for fuel, for heat, for electricity generation in industrial furnaces, green houses, agricultural buildings, and in the residential biomass furnaces and stoves.

Here are some of the input materials we have recycled and converted into 100% natural Brickettes – no additives, adhesives or chemicals.

WOOD Brickettes:

Our WOOD Brickettes can be made from ground waste pallets, chipped or ground discarded forest remnants and forest management;  wood shavings + wood plane.

Wood Dies are used in the Slugger to process input ground wood material into Brickettes.

SWITCHGRASS & varieties of native grasses (miscanthus, reed canary grass, mixed prairie grasses):

Our GRASS Brickettes are also used for heating and electricity generation and can be burned in an increasing number of commercially available residential and industrial sized heating appliances.

BOOKS, CARDBOARD, SHREDDED PAPER, Newsprint, Magazines:

Paper and cardboard companies can only recycle and reprocess their product on the average of seven times, then it too is not acceptable and is transported to landfill.

Our Brickettes from discarded books, cardboard and paper burn clean and are an excellent source for fuel, for heat and for electricity generation. They actually burn at a higher BTU than wood, or wood brickettes.

MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE (msw) with blended wood or switch grass:

Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) consists of a wide variety of materials including paper, plastics, metals, glass.  The ground material is sorted to remove all recyclable plastics and ferrous metals, leaving only paper, non-recyclable plastics, aluminum and fragments of glass.  This material is mostly what overflows landfills across the world, but if it is ground to the consistency as shown below, it too can be blended into brickettes.

Although such brickettes are not suitable for a residential market, they can be burned cleanly and safely in high temperature gasifiers for heat or electricity generation.  In such a system, even the aluminum burns, the glass melts and forms clinkers in the ash which can be recovered and recycled, leaving no waste or undue pollution.

We are now testing blended wood & switchgrass with all of the following raw materials:

  • Discarded Coffee grounds
  • Straw, Alfalfa, Hay
  • Corn & Soybean stalk
  • Varieties of vegetation and leaves
  • Nutshells (peanuts, coconuts)
